LAS VEGAS (August 2023) – The Wedding Capital of the World™ announces commemorative wedding packages available at stunning venues throughout the city to celebrate Las Vegas’ 70th anniversary as the globe’s most desirable wedding location. With the destination’s historic milestone taking place this fall, couples tying the knot in Las Vegas can take advantage of romantic ceremony and reception opportunities in the coming months.

The Wedding Capital of the World was first associated with Las Vegas in a Sept. 23, 1953, article in the London Daily Herald. Officials are celebrating the 70th anniversary of this first reference this year, and a monumental celebration will be held at Caesars Palace on Sept. 3. Benefiting Nevada Partnership for Homeless Youth, the event will include brunch, a mass vow renewal for married couples and an original, vintage-Vegas style production show called “Las Vegas Will You Marry Me.” Written by veteran entertainers Dennis Bono and Lorraine Hunt-Bono and produced by Pompey Entertainment, the show will feature The Righteous Brothers and many more iconic Las Vegas performing artists.
