LAS VEGAS (March 2025) – The Underground speakeasy and distillery at The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces its roster of live entertainment and cocktail specials for March, including offers for National Absinthe Day and St. Patrick’s Day. Additionally, visitors can celebrate National Cocktail Day with a plethora of Prohibition era-inspired libations at Downtown Las Vegas’ premier speakeasy. The complete list of offers and live entertainment follows.

National Absinthe Day – Absinthe Frappe
Holiday: Wednesday, March 5
Promotional Dates: Wednesday, March 5 through Sunday, March 9.
Time: Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Location: The Underground speakeasy

Description: As the temperance movement began in the late 1800s, absinthe bore the brunt of the teetotalers’ fight unlike any other spirit. The overproof French liquor had been falsely linked to hallucinations due to its wormwood content and was subsequently banned in Europe in the early 1900s. In America, the licorice spirit was banned from 1912 to 2007 when the Food and Drug Administration and the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau legalized absinthe sans thujone, the compound found in untreated wormwood. This National Absinthe Day, guests can celebrate with the Absinthe Frappe, crafted with Absente Absinthe, sambuca, simple syrup for sweetness and a pinch of salt for balance.

Holiday: Monday, March 17

Time: Friday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to midnight and Monday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

ABOUT THE UNDERGROUND
The Underground is an immersive Prohibition history exhibition featuring a speakeasy, distillery and private VIP room in the basement of The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement. Artifacts from the 1920s and 1930s tell the intriguing story of the Prohibition era, which not only saw a proliferation of bootlegged booze and the meteoric growth of organized crime outfits but also had a profound, lasting impact on society, specifically making way for modern cocktail culture. A seasonal cocktail menu gives guests the opportunity to try contemporary takes on classic Prohibition-era cocktails. The menu and atmosphere have landed the speakeasy on several “best cocktail bars in Las Vegas” lists. Distillery tastings allow participants to learn about Prohibition and its impact on a variety of spirits and drinking habits while tasting a few of the Museum’s moonshines. The distilling program has received numerous accolades, including “Best Moonshine” at the 2020 International Whiskey Competition, “Best in Class” and “Gold” and “Silver Medals” at the 2024 American Distilling Institute’s International Spirits Competition and “Gold” and “Silver Medals” at the 2022, 2023 and 2024 California Craft Spirits Competition. Complimentary entrance to The Underground is granted at the secret side door to visitors who know the password, which is published daily on Instagram Stories @MobMuseum_Underground.
