THE MOB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES SEPTEMBER PROGRAMS, PROMOTIONS
LAS VEGAS (August 2022) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces its roster of public programs and promotions for September.

Dangerous Rhythms: Jazz and the Underworld
Date: Thursday, Sept. 8
Time: 7 to 8 p.m.

Cost: Free for Museum Members or with Museum admission
Description: During the jazz age, mobsters and musicians built mutually beneficial partnerships. Al Capone, Lucky Luciano and Meyer Lansky’s love for jazz music provided Black artists such as Louis Armstrong, Duke Ellington and Billie Holiday with opportunities that would not have otherwise existed. However, racial inequalities remained part of the underworld system. Veteran organized crime writer T.J. English will explore how the Mob’s influence helped set many musicians on a path to stardom. A book signing will follow the program.
Speaker: T.J. English is a New York Times best-selling author and award-winning journalist. He has written several books, including “Dangerous Rhythms: Jazz and the Underworld.”

Description: From Wednesday, Sept. 14 through Tuesday, Sept. 20, The Mob Museum will offer $5 off general admission for Life Is Beautiful attendees. Guests must show proof of a Life Is Beautiful ticket or wristband at the box office. This promotion cannot be combined with other offers.
Hispanic Leaders in Law: Celebrating Nevada’s Legal Pioneers
Date: Wednesday, Sept. 28
Time: 6 to 7 p.m.

Description: In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, The Mob Museum welcomes esteemed Las Vegas Latino legal pioneers for a panel discussion about their careers and the growing demand for more Hispanic voices in Southern Nevada’s legal community. Developed in collaboration with the Clark County Bar Association and the Nevada Latino Bar Association, visitors are invited to attend and be a part of this noteworthy conversation.
