LAS VEGAS (August 2023) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, announces its September programs, including “Art Heists: Inside The FBI’s Pursuit of Stolen Masterpieces” and “The Life and Legacy of Kiki Camerena” in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.
Art Heists: Inside The FBI’s Pursuit of Stolen Masterpieces
Date: Wednesday, Sept. 6
Time: 7 to 8 p.m.

Description: Former FBI special agent Robert Wittman led the FBI’s National Art Crime Team in tracking art thieves and recovering more than $300 million in stolen art. From Rembrandt’s self-portrait to North Carolina’s missing Bill of Rights, Wittman restored scores of priceless works and artifacts to their rightful venues over his 20-year career. Join Wittman as he discusses cases that have headlined his career, including his undercover work to unravel a $500-million theft from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, considered the biggest art heist of the century. This program is produced in partnership with the FBI Las Vegas Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

Description: In 1985, DEA agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena was kidnapped, tortured and murdered by members of a Mexican drug cartel. For more than four years, Camarena had fearlessly pursued marijuana and cocaine traffickers, disrupting their operations and inching closer to exposing the leaders of a billion-dollar drug network. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Mika Camarena, widow of the slain agent, will describe the heartbreaking story of her husband’s disappearance and death, and the impact the tragedy had on their family and the war on drug traffickers.
