THE MOB MUSEUM ANNOUNCES A ONE-DAY, LIMITED CAPACITY
CONFERENCE TITLED “THE SUMMIT: THE MOB IN LAS VEGAS” SEPT. 21
LAS VEGAS (September 2019) – The Mob Museum, the National Museum of Organized Crime and Law Enforcement, is hosting an inaugural one-day conference featuring keynote speaker Oscar B. Goodman. Known for his trademark, no-nonsense tell-it-like-it-is style, Goodman, the 19th mayor of Las Vegas, served the city for 12 years. He also spent more than three decades defending some of the most notorious alleged Mob figures. Held on Sept. 21, “The Summit: The Mob in Las Vegas,” is a deep dive into the Mob’s role in building Las Vegas and offers up-close-and-personal access to subject matter experts.
This unique opportunity centers on the Mob’s four-decade-long reign in Las Vegas. Topics of the day include the Mob’s arrival in Las Vegas, its control of the Strip and its eventual dislodging from the casino industry. Attendees can expect to dig beneath the surface of the news to discover what really happened through a look into stories and events involving mobsters such as Meyer Lansky, Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel, Frank “Lefty” Rosenthal and Tony Spilotro. Guests will engage in conversations with historians, journalists, former FBI agents and regulators, gaining perspectives and exclusive insights into the Mob from the most knowledgeable experts in their fields.
The conference will include breakfast as well as an intimate luncheon with Goodman. The day includes a tour of the Museum’s Underground moonshine distillery and a take-home gift bag.
