On Friday, March 31, several Team Members from SAHARA Las Vegas visited Robert E. Lake Elementary School students during Career Day. These Team Members, including Derek Morishita, executive director of restaurants; Nate Hedlund, executive director of beverage sponsorships & activations; Stacy King, vice president of human resources; Erika Hernandez, director of human resources; and Jerry Mautner, convention services manager, spent a portion of the day visiting students and discussing their careers while emphasizing the importance of pursuing an education. The school participates in Career Day annually to motivate students and establish the connection between “real life” work experiences and education.
“We are proud to give time back to the local community by sharing the importance of education with local students,” said Paul Hobson, general manager, SAHARA Las Vegas. “It is our hope that these students look up to SAHARA team members and are inspired to continue their education to obtain future careers they are passionate about.”
“It is crucial for young students to realize the value of education and how it gives them a larger variety of options when choosing a career,” said Paola Zepher, principal, Robert E. Lake Elementary School. “We are deeply grateful for the SAHARA team members taking time out of their day to share their careers and become positive role models for our kids.”
