Event Held In Recognition of National Robotics Week
Media Invited to Interview Students, CCSD’s Head of Diversity and Inclusion for STEM, BattleBots Executives
WHAT:
In recognition of National Robotics Week, BATTLEBOTS: DESTRUCT-A-THON, the new live show from BattleBots—the world’s premier robot combat sport—will host local students from the Clark County School District’s (CCSD) Girls in STEM program for an exclusive field trip and robot designing workshop.
More than 30 girls from Cashman Middle School will partake in a full tour of the BattleBots Arena. The field trip will feature the opportunity for girls to explore new ideas, develop technical skills and cultivate interest in STEM education and workforce development while designing their very own combat robots. Students will collaborate with each other and receive guidance from Shea Johns, a BattleBots professional from the Triton team, before presenting their robot designs to show executives.
Inspired by BattleBots, the STEM.org-accredited educational experience and hit TV show reaching more than 11 million viewers, BATTLEBOTS: DESTRUCT-A-THON seeks to excite youth and inspire children to pursue futures in STEM-related fields.
