LAS VEGAS (February 2023) – BattleBots, the world’s premier robot combat competition, announces it has named Bil Dwyer as host and Steve Judkins as co-host for the daily “BATTLEBOTS: DESTRUCT-A-THON” live show opening Friday, Feb. 3, at the BattleBots Arena in Las Vegas. The brand-new, 75-minute robot-combat theater show features live robot fights, and no one will know which robot will be victorious each night. Each show will be full of shocks, surprises and the kind of robot-on-robot carnage for which BattleBots is famous.
About Bil Dwyer
Dwyer is no stranger to BattleBots; fans of the show will recall he hosted the original
Comedy Central version back in 2000 and the entire BattleBots community is delighted to welcome him back as the host of “BATTLEBOTS: DESTRUCT-A-THON” live show in Las Vegas. His extensive career has covered many facets of show business, from performing and writing to commercial voiceover work. He is an accomplished standup comic, who has appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn” and his very own, half-hour standup special, “Comedy Central Presents: Bil Dwyer.” His takes on marriage, kids and family are hip and sardonic—yet beneath lies a certain odd sweetness. He hosted GSN’s “I’ve Got a Secret,” Fox Sports’ “Ultimate Fan League,” PAX-TV’s “Dirty Rotten Cheaters,” GSN’s “Extreme Dodgeball,” MTV’s “The 70’s House” and the “Tiny Football League” which ran at halftime on NBC’s Sunday Night Football. Besides appearing on television shows such as “Parks and Recreation,” “The Middle,” “Children’s Hospital,” “House of Lies,” “Suburgatory,” “The Larry Sanders Show,” “Hot in Cleveland,” “Ally McBeal” and “iCarly,” Dwyer has also been in films such as “Ski School 2,” and “What Planet are You From?” Writing with sitcom star/television producer Christopher Titus, Dwyer co-created a show based on his stand-up comedy called “Back After This” for Sony Pictures Television. A regular commentator on various cable shows, he is most often recognized for his work on VH1’s highly rated “I Love the…” series. Dwyer was also seen as a finalist on season four of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” and starred in Cartoon Network’s live action/animation hybrid series “Out of Jimmy’s Head.” He currently hosts “Stardumb!,” a live celeb-studded game/talk/improv comedy hybrid, which has been seen twice at L.A.’s RIOT! Fest and three years running at San Francisco Sketchfest.
