LAS VEGAS (October 2024) – The Atomic Museum announces it will host its next “Game Night at the Museum” on Friday, Oct. 18, in collaboration with Nevada Humanities. Attendees are invited to explore the museum’s exhibits and play Loreloop: The World We Live In, The World We Create, a tabletop role-playing game experience. Created by Nevada Humanities and designed by Ashley Warren. Loreloop invites participants to immerse themselves in Nevada’s past, present and future through a collection of short interactive stories. At this event, participants will navigate a Loreloop scenario exploring the history and impact of atomic testing in Nevada.

Participants will embark on a mission to solve a mystery in an abandoned atomic testing community. Exploring an underground laboratory uncovers one scientist’s dream of a better future. This story was created in consultation with the Atomic Museum team and features elements of themes, topics and events visitors can learn about in detail at the museum.

“‘Game Night at the Museum’ is another creative way for the community to actively engage with the fascinating history of atomic testing in Nevada,” says Matt Malinowski, Atomic Museum director of education. “By partnering with Nevada Humanities, we’re able to offer this fresh approach to learning through storytelling and gameplay.”

Loreloop – and the stories it inspires – offers a myriad of fun and dynamic ways to explore past and present Nevada experiences while charting a new and thoughtful path for the future.” says Christina Barr, Nevada Humanities executive director. “Games and play are powerful tools for us to use to bring different perspectives and voices to the table to nurture empathy, improve mental health, and combat hate. The Atomic Testing Museum is the perfect host for this program.”

The event will begin at 5 p.m. with exhibit exploration, followed by gameplay from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. No previous tabletop gaming experience is needed. Loreloop is recommended for participants ages 14 and up, and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Tickets are complimentary, but space is limited and advance registration is required. To RSVP, click here.

Loreloop: The World We Live In, The World We Create is a program of Nevada Humanities and was made possible with funding from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the United We Stand: Connecting Through Culture initiative.
