AREA15 LIFTOFF Case Study | The Vox Agency

Winner of a 2022 Pinnacle Award by the Public Relations Society of America

The Project

With a rapidly expanding roster of must-see experiences, AREA15 announced it would launch “LIFTOFF” – a panoramic skyline experience in February 2022. In advance of its official opening to the public, AREA15 opted to host an exclusive preview event for select journalists and social media influencers the evening prior. The invitation-only, high-profile event featured live performers, pyrotechnic displays and original musical compositions to entertain attendees. In addition, each guest was invited to order a drink from LIFTOFF Lounge’s selection of beer, wine and handcrafted cocktails before boarding the 130-foot steel structure to take in 360 degree views of the Las Vegas valley. The media preview generated substantial local and national media coverage, as well as increased inquiries about AREA15’s event-hosting capabilities.

The Results

More than 100 people attended the event, demonstrating enormous enthusiasm for the highly anticipated new attraction. Local coverage was secured in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Las Vegas Sun, Thrillist Las Vegas and Las Vegas Weekly as well as Las Vegas’ four main broadcast stations. National outlets that covered the attraction included Travel Weekly, Forbes, Attractions Magazine and more.

Since the grand opening in February 2022, AREA15 exceeded their ticket sales goals for “LIFTOFF,” selling tens of thousands of tickets during its first three months. Its success enabled AREA15 to expand programming at LIFTOFF Lounge to include weekly block parties featuring food trucks, drink specials, outdoor games, live DJs and more.
