LAS VEGAS (September 2022) – Ferraro’s Ristorante invites guests to experience its next Taste & Learn on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 5 p.m. Taste & Learn is Ferraro’s popular, monthly wine-tasting and education event that provides illuminating wine education along with a menu of expertly prepared, authentic Italian small plates crafted by Chef Mimmo Ferraro.
The October Taste & Learn event spotlights wines from the Luigi Baudana and G.D. Vajra wineries located in Barolo, a community in Northern Italy’s Piedmont region. Renowned for the unparalleled red wines they produce, G.D. Vajra’s winemaking history dates back to the 1880s. The story of the Luigi Baudana winery begins with the Baudana family earning a living growing and selling grapes to other winemakers in the region. In the 1970s, owner Luigi Baudana decided to stop selling his family’s grapes to others and started producing his own estate wines thanks to the encouragement and support from his wife, Fiorina. As the Baudanas neared retirement in 2008, they identified three siblings from the G.D. Vajra family to continue their legacy. Today, the two families have joined forces to carry their historic winemaking traditions forward.
Taste & Learn attendees will begin the tasting with the Luigi Baudana Langhe Doc Bianco “Dragon,” a dry, bright white wine enriched with scents of flowers and summer grass. Second on the menu is the G.D. Vajra Langhe Doc Pinot Nero 2019, a vibrant red wine featuring a complex bouquet of aromas ranging from dark red fruits to violet flowers. Next, the G.D. Vajra Barbera d’Alba 2018 offers hints of fruit mixed with sweet spices and aromatic herbs. Lastly, guests will enjoy the G.D. Vajra Barolo Bricco delle Viole 2017, a complex, sweet and slightly spicy deep red wine.
“We are always excited to teach our guests about Italian wineries they may not normally encounter,” said Gino Ferraro, owner, Ferraro’s. “This month’s experience will allow attendees to try some of the Piedmont region’s most notable wines from Luigi Baudana and G.D. Vajra.”
