LAKE MEAD NATIONAL RECREATION AREA (September 2021) – In support of the Southern Nevada community, National Park Service concessioner Lake Mead Mohave Adventures (LMMA) has selected 10 deserving non-profit organizations to receive a total of 200 annual passes to Lake Mead National Recreation Area. In addition, LMMA invites the Las Vegas community to celebrate National Public Lands Day on Sept. 25 and enjoy free admission to Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Known to improve overall physical and mental wellness, access to the great outdoors enriches the lives of many Southern Nevada families. From exercising outside to promote physical health to creating strong ties with other community members through bonding activities such as hiking and camping, outdoor recreation offers an array of benefits.

To reach diverse and deserving populations, LMMA has selected the following non-profit organizations to each receive 20 passes:

  • After-School All-Stars Las Vegas
  • Boy Scouts of America: Las Vegas Area Council
  • Communities In Schools Nevada
  • Eagle Quest of Nevada
  • Get Outdoors Nevada
  • Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada
  • HELP of Southern Nevada
  • Las Vegas Boys and Girls Club
  • Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation
  • St. Jude’s Ranch for Children Nevada

“We are beyond thrilled to gift these passes to some of the most deserving community organizations in Southern Nevada,” said Chad Taylor, director of sales and marketing, Lake Mead Mohave Adventures. “These organizations serve individuals who may have never been able to visit our region’s national parklands before, so being able to provide access with these passes is enormously gratifying for us. Now, many more of our neighbors will be able to visit the charming beaches at Cottonwood Cove, unique scenery and wildlife at Willow Beach, enjoy incredible hiking and fishing opportunities at Temple Bar and so much more.”

“Lake Mead National Recreation Area has long been a favorite local destination for Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada,” said Yvette Hairston, chief mission delivery officer, Girl Scouts of Southern Nevada. “For many of our Girl Scouts it is where their first memories of national parks were made — where they’ll take their first field trip to a visitor’s center, go on their first hike on the Historic Railroad Trail and paddle their first canoes, kayaks and paddleboards on Lake Mead. Thank you to Lake Mead Mohave Adventures for the gift of annual passes. It means so much to our girls.”
