LAS VEGAS (April 2025) – On Monday, March 31, the Greater Good Council (GGC), a program of the Moonridge Group, awarded its annual Collective Impact Grants to two outstanding Nevada nonprofit organizations. This year’s first-place grant of $150,000 was awarded to the Natural History Museum, while Cristo Rey St. Viator received the second-place grant of $26,550.
The GGC Collective Impact Grant is a hallmark of the council’s mission to transform Nevada through strategic philanthropic giving, community engagement and collective impact. Each year, the council invites nonprofit organizations to apply through a competitive, multi-stage grant process that culminates in a member vote. The winning grantees are selected based on their potential to create measurable, lasting change in Southern Nevada communities.
“The Collective Impact Grant is a powerful example of how thoughtful, collaborative philanthropy can drive meaningful change,” said Julie Murray, CEO and principal of Moonridge Group. “By bringing together Nevada’s philanthropic leaders through the Greater Good Council, we’re able to amplify giving and support organizations making a real difference in our communities.”
Founded and overseen by the Moonridge Group, the Greater Good Council convenes private philanthropic leaders and family foundations in quarterly meetings held in both Northern and Southern Nevada. Under the leadership of philanthropists Cindy Ellis in Las Vegas and Cathy Trachok in Reno, the GGC provides dynamic programming aligned with its core values, offering a unique space for philanthropists to connect, learn and collaborate.
As part of its growing efforts to strengthen nonprofit organizations statewide, the GGC also launched the GGC Academy in 2024. Co-founded by entrepreneurs Kim Harvey and Chris Grove, the Academy offers expert-led workshops and educational resources designed to help nonprofits improve grant-writing and operational strategies—empowering them to submit stronger, more competitive applications for the Collective Impact Grant.
Applications for the next grant cycle will open December 1 through December 31, 2025. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations based in Nevada are encouraged to apply online. Selected grantees will be required to submit progress and final reports to measure impact and guide future funding. For more information about the Greater Good Council, visit moonridgegroup.com.
